Mental Wellness Starts With a Call. A Text. A Visit. A Friend. COMPEER.
One in five individuals throughout the United States will experience some form of mental illness (like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or PTSD) in their lifetime. In WNY alone, that number is equivalent to over 500,000 people.
Our purpose is to provide those striving for mental wellness an opportunity to build supportive friendships in a variety of settings. We know these friendships make a meaningful difference for everyone involved- reducing isolation and feelings of loneliness! By choosing Compeer, your donation will allow us to:
- Create more 1-to-1 friendships
- Offer social engagement activities such as bowling, mini golf, theatre trips, game nights, holiday celebrations every month
- Provide a Confidence Kits to youth clients returning to school
- Give clients a winter holiday gift
- Support students in middle and high schools in small group and 1-to-1 mentoring settings
- Facilitate mental health education workshops that address how to support someone struggling with their mental wellbeing
